This is a completely revised and updated version of the original ‘Optimum Nutrition Bible’ and includes up to date research. It details, amongst other things, what a well balanced diet really means, how to boost your immune system, how to avoid heart disease and lower your blood pressure without drugs. The revision gives new charts and six new chapters, on Stimulants, Water, Eating right for your blood type, Detox, Homocysteine and Toxic Minerals. Easy to read and full of interesting facts.
The Nutritional Health Bible, Linda Lazarides
Very accessible A-Z including vitamins and conditions. Very helpful and easy to use. One of my practice essentials I use this reference book nearly every day.
You Are What You Eat, Gillian McKeith
Colourful and no nonsense guide to eating well. Lots of references to ways to identify problems such as coating on your tongue, white marks on your nails and the colour of your stool. As you go through the book you become more of you can miss the last chapters on sprouting your own seeds if you want to!
The High-energy Cookbook: Low-GI Recipes for Weight Loss and Vitality by Rachael Anne Hill & Nicky Dowie
Healthy food beautifully presented – the food almost looks too good to be healthy! Try the morning muffins as a change from cereal. I make them using homemade cereal with barley flakes and replace the self-raising flour with rice flour for a non-wheat alternative. You can even replace the honey with Agarve Syrup for an even lower GI rating.
Why Men Don’t Listen and Women Can’t Read Maps, Allan & Barbara Pease
Allan Pease is the world’s foremost expert on body language and teams up with his wife Barbara to educate to us in the biological factors that make men and women so different. The emphasis is on appreciating and understanding the differences rather than blaming or expecting our partners to be just like us. Very funny, entertaining and informative. A good read for couples in conflict or those that just want to understand each other.
Why Men Don’t Have a Clue & Women Always Need More Shoes, Allan & Barbara Pease
Allan & Barbara Pease provide us with another non-PC look at some of the issues that have confused men and women for centuries. Men will never understand women and women will never understand men. A follow on from the well-known Men are from Mars Women are from Venus. Deepening the understanding that men and women are indeed different. This book will help you get what you want and give what your partner needs.
The Way of the Superior Man, David Deida
This book has had a profound effect on how I view my personal relationship. David Deida really does understand how women want to be loved. It’s challenging too. What do you mean I am not the most important thing in his life! Then I thought about it and got it. More spiritual than Why Men Don’t Listen… or Mars and Venus…. I have recommended this book to so many people some it has infuriated and some it has inspired. It tests everyone.
Ultimate Communion, David Deida
Beautifully written, Deida looks at both men and women, our yin and yang energies and how we need to act and express ourselves to come together in balanced intimate communion. I cannot say it better than he. If you are not delighted by a style of intimacy involving deep passion, deep devotion and a deep understanding of all three, then this book is not for you.
